Dragonriders fly straight and true
Whenever Thread threatens the sky so blue
After the ancient menace they soar
To save the planet Pern that they adore.

The silvery cords drop through the sky,
But the dragon-wings do not go awry
No matter their doubts and fears
They will always fly, always sear.

What do these Dragonriders gain,
From suffering so much pain?
The feeling of saving their home,
So humankind can forever roam.
